I'm buying a 2000 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100 is it right for me?
I've been riding year-round now for 3 years never owned a car driven to Colorado from South Carolina and back I know how to handle bikes but I've never owned a bike this big my last bike was a Yamaha V Star 950 I'm going to step it up a little bit what should I really be expecting from this bike other than a bigger engine I weigh about 136 pounds or so 5 6 the 950 took me about a week to really learn how to handle before that was a V-Star 250 would this be a decent bike for someone like me
This is a fine bike. Get it checked by a bike mechanic. Ask for a discount if the tires need to be replaced. If you have some money, go a bit retro and get a 2 or 3 year old Honda CB1100. That bike is a thing of beauty.
What are you expecting from those extra 150ccs, slightly less weight and almost identical horsepower?
Plenty of opportunity in the last 17 years for mechanical abuse - look closely at servicing and at the seals on the shaft drive (especially if has been sitting for a while).
GOLDEN RULE: NEVER RIDE A BIKE YOU CAN't PICK UP.
- If i make a wire harness will it work with out pulse generator and icu on 85 1100 honda shadow? If i just make direct line from stator to rectifier to starter selonoid and coils will it be fine with out the pulse generator and the 2 icm/icu? I want to eliminate a bunchof stuff on it and i was wondering if that could go as well. It was a mess when i bought it i will figure it out if it must stay but i just need to know if it can go because it will be less of a headache if i can keep it going with out it.
- Honda Sabre As First Bike? I was looking on CraigsList the other day and came across a Honda V65 Sabre 1100. And it looked really cool for a bike from the 80's. Anyway I'm 16 and I was wondering if the Sabre would be a good bike for me to get.
- I'm deciding between a 2001 Harley Davidson sportster 1200 custom or a 2000 Honda Shadow sabre don't know which one to get The Harley Davidson sportster custom 1200 has 17,000 miles it's green and he wants 3,300 for it. Or a Honda Shadow sabre has 7000 miles on it and it's blue they want 2,999 for it 3221 including taxes.
- Can you put harley wide glide forks on a honda shadow ace 1100? Both forks are 41mm. I'm trying to put a 21" front tire on the bike and I'm weighing my options on what I should do. If the forks can set into the triple tree with not much problem Luke only having to make shims then that's the way to go.
