Motorcycle choke position?

I'm in China and bought a 2001 Sundiro Honda 125cc motorcycle to get around.

The choke is different than my 1300vtx back home… And I need some help figuring it out.

The choke on this bike is a black lever on the left side of the engine, right next to the carb. There are three positions, up, middle, and down.

It is extremely cold here. The bike will only start in the UP position… Then after it warms up I can move it to the DOWN position where it will idle. This seems like a normal choke thing except for one thing… The bike will not hold idle and will stall out in the UP position… I have adjusted the idle screw for the DOWN position… Am doing this the opposite way? Also what is the middle position for? The bike won't start in the DOWN position, only in the UP position.

I'm hoping that I don't have the choke backwards… Should I mess with the idle screw in the UP position instead?

Added (1). The only way to warm up the bike is to put it in UP position and sit there for a few minutes holding the throttle open so it doesn't stall out.

Added (2). AH forgot to mention… If I try to ride it in the UP position… It gets bogged down and can't go up hills, etc… Running in the DOWN position, it reaches top speed, great rpms, etc runs just like it should… This is why I adjusted idle for DOWN position.

What are good and cheap cruiser bikes? Under 4-5k?

I'm looking for something similar to the honda rebel.

I need it to hit 55- 60 miles per hours since the roads are spaced out where i'm from.

And if i buy used should I trust a used motorcycle what should I look for?

Detailed answers are much appreciated!

98 honda 600cbr starting problems?

Bought it off a guy. Has been sitting for about 2 months. Has fuel.new spark plugs. Clean the carbs. Just keeps turning and won't start. Does give back fire when trying to start for 20 second or more. What could it be?!

Should I get a scooter or a beginner motorcycle?

I want to get the honda ruckus knock off. Its cheaper and its stronger then the ruckus it has 150 cc.

But I also like cruiser bikes liek the honda rebel 250.

I just don't have the money for it currently.

can you guys recommend some bikes similar to these two? And are cheaper than 4-5k?

maybe list the advantages and disadvantages I also want to it to have a little bit of speed because I live out in texas and the roads are huge. Maybe 55-60 miles per hour top speed is ok.

Detailed answers are appreciated!

Motorcycle randomly loses power and shuts down?

Just bought a 2013 honda shadow 750 from private seller, only 3500 miles on bike. However when riding bike for some reason loses engine, feels like one of the cylinders stops firing
Engine light goes on and motorcycle is unable to gain power, if i pull i wait and pull in the clutch it restarts and then can ride again for a bit before doing it again. At a certain point however the bike would even turn off, but would start back up again no problems.
i say it feels like one cylinder stops firing is because engine sound changes, bike is unable to climb revs / pull bike. However still running. This is fixed by either turning engine kill switch on / off and turning bike on again.
bike has 2 spark plugs per cylinder and though it could be bad spark plug but sometimes it will run for 15+ miles without giving me problem and then in a course of 1 mile i won't be able to get past 30mph ( ON THE HIGHWAY )
Bike has a non stock air intake, exhaust, and power commander.
Any more info needed ask away, if anyone had idea where to start looking for the issue?

Honda clone small engine, horizontal shaft, high idle?

It is on a baja warrior mini bike. I bought this bike from a guy who tried to make it a bit faster but left me with a problem. When starting the bike you have to jump on it as soon as it fires up because it starts going with out any twist of the throttle. I already cleaned the carb and the jets and tried adjusting the idle at the idle screw on top of the carb. The linkage looks fine and returns to the position it should. Also the clutch is in working order. How do I lower the idle?
