What is the old CB450dx like?

Well the bike shop near me has an J reg, (that's 1991!), for sale at £595 in good nick with a guarantee and a new ticket and I'm sorely tempted as it looks damned comfy and it's a Honda. Are they good bikes?

The CB-450DX was only built for 3 years (1989-1991), due to poor sales figures.

They were built in Brazil. Unfortunately, the Brazilian-built Hondas don't have the same build quality as the Japanese-built ones.

It's slow, for the engine size - 85mph flat-out is all you can really expect. However, as the brakes aren't too good, maybe that's not a bad thing.

Fuel consumption is poor - around 45mpg (my 1,700cc Victory does about 45mpg…).

The CB-450DX is comfortable to ride, handles fairly well and if you can knock the seller down to under £500, it'll be a bargain as a commuter bike.

Hi like all hondas is well looked after are a nice motorcycle.
