What to get for Dual Sprt Tires?
I own a 2014 Honda Crf250x that I plan to make a supermoto. I can only find DOT approved tires for the road, but I will take the bike on the road only around 20% of the time, so I want to buy DOT approved dirt tires. Does anyone know of such a thing?
There's actually quite a few, i use dunlop d606's on mine, they are a good compromise tire. The latest good reviews i've heard are that 'trials' tires are a very good on/off road way to go also.
When I rode a dual purpose I rode mostly dirt and so ran knobbies because off road performance was more important to me.
I was never ticketed for it and the only down side was the asphalt shortening the tire life.
- Which dual sport should I get? I'm looking at getting a dual sport bike so I can drive on and off road (my friend and I hit the trails a lot but I want something for the city too). I like Yamahas and Hondas, and could care less for Suzuki and Kawasaki. I want one that would handle more difficult trails/hills, so I'm thinking something among the line of the DRZ400/440 or the XR650 (the 250 might be a bit small), but I'm interested in your opinions/recommendations.
- What type of Dual Sport will last on the freeway? Well I want a Dual Sport bike for commuting to work and other places. I was thinking about the 2015 Honda CRF250L but I heard that on the freeway it starts to have a little trouble when hitting 60-65. Now I will be riding the freeway quite a bit since that's how I get to work. So I need help on figuring out which bike is best for me. Also I'm 6'2 and about 260pounds. Please help me and my love handles finding a perfect bike.
- I want a enduro dual sport but I'm having seat height issues? I want to buy a dual sport and I was looking at a honda crf250l because of the reliability and ratings and longetivity. The only problem with it is the seat height is 34.7 inches and it's too tall. My height needed is about 32.9 inches. Does anyone have any suggestions?
- Does a dual yoshimura exhaust have different sized holes just like on a stock CRF250R? I own a 2006 Honda CRF250R bike which has dual exhaust which comes stock on the bike. For the stock dual, the left exhaust has a slightly bigger hole than the right because of making even airflows. MY QUESTION IS: I want to buy a dual Yoshimura from motosport.com, i'm not sure if they have different sized holes just like stock. And if they don't, does it make a difference?
