That's a fair price from a dealer, however you should be aware of the maintenance records. At 100,000 it needs a major tune up, timing belt and components, along with a water pump. That's bound to be $1200 worth of work. Have the brakes checked front and rear. I'd offer them $8,400 on a Friday night at the end of the month. If a sales person sells a car then it goes on their commission check next week instead of waiting 4 weeks!
It is on the high side of average for a car. Go to KBB.com and verify the price is correct it is the upgraded trim for this model. Mind you though Honda has a reputation for longevity. If I remember correctly both these and the Odyessy they use the same transmission had issues with it. Not a huge deal it is a known problem for them though. If everything is taken care of it may last another 100k.
$10k for anything with 120k sounds too much.
Great! I will try to find out! Thank so much!
Find out how much of that mileage is highway miles and how much stop and go driving it had. If its 75-25 highway - city them you should be ok. _9700, tho too high
- Should I buy a 2013 car with 100,000 mileage? May I ask for your advice? I found a used car registerd in 2013 at a very cheap price. The brand is excellent - we're talking about Honda, Nissan, Mercedes here. However, its mileage is 100,000. If you were in my situation, would you think it is worthwhile to buy? How long can that kind of car last?
- Would you purchase a 2004 Honda pilot for $6,000.000 that has 216,000 miles on it? I'm just browsing online looking at cars for sale and a lot of them have 200k or more miles on them and they want $4,000 or more. Why do people sale their cars for such a high price with a lot of miles on them? Its not just Hondas its all types of cars private and dealers as well
- Should I buy a low mileage 2015ish Sequoia or a 2017 Honda Pilot EX-L? I can get a used sequioa with less than 40k miles (without warranty) for the same price as a new Honda EX-L with 100,000 powertrain warranty). I can't decide between the two… I need something that will sit 3 car seats minimum, 4 is even better. We do plan on having more kids. I know the Sequoia's a lot bigger, but I plan to use it as a commuting vehicle for at least a year and it seems like overkill. Also, it doesn't seem the Sequoia is as safe as the Pilot, I think?
- Our 2006 honda odyssey lost acceleration/power and was towed? Was towed. On first start now, it starts for 1 second and immediately turns off. On second start, it only whines like a flooding sound. The engine light is on. The van is stranded. Please let me know where to start. What do these symptoms mean? What are the signs of a bad egr valve? It it air or fuel intake? Spark plugs are fairly new. Starter is fairly new. Our budget is very small.
