Radio turns off car powers down at idle or stop had to get a jump this morning check engine light is on what could be the issue?
2001 Honda Passport
It's a Honda Passport.
It's badge engineered Isuzu Trooper. Which was a terrible vehicle.
Almost certainly alternator failing. Assuming the serpentine belt is in place and not loose. You can test alternators easily with a cheap digital multimeter. See link. 14.4 volts should be present across the terminals when the engine is running. Set it at 20 volts. Better to check the alternator before shelling out as they are not cheap items.
Battery or alternator is going.
Your alternator is dying and soon, you'll be stuck
I would have a rnechanic check it out
Check engine light is on… If you don't know what to do at this point, I can't help you
- Sometimes the car does not stop when I brake but it feels like it's hard to stop, is this a rotor issue I'm afraid I will rear end someone? It happens every once a while I'll press the brakes and it won't stop like a jumpy feeling is this rotorsrelated? 2001 Honda Passport
- Is it ok to drive my car once the check engine light turns off? I drive a 2016 Honda Civic. A couple days ago my Check engine Light turned on. It turned off today. I got it checked and the code was P0326, a knock sensor problem. Should I get it checked even though the light turned off?
- Check engine light, open door light, and batterie light all came on and won't go off? 2000 Honda Odyssey I already had the altinator replaced it a month old. The batterie almost a year old. Would the belt need be changed or something else?
- After replacing our car battery, our remote starter just turns and turns without actually starting the car? My wife has a 2010 Honda Fit and we just had to replace the battery. We got a remote starter installed from Best Buy in either 2010 or 2011. But after the recent battery replacement, the remote starter responds by just cranking and not starting. It does like three sets of cranking before stopping. I don't remember the brand of remote starter, but anyone have any insight of what I need to do?
