What are the odds? Van repairs?

I've never had car problems in 17 years of driving. I've had my honda odessey for 7 years, I'm the original owner. In the last 3 and a half months, I had to get the alternator changed, then the radiator, then the transmission rebuilt (and I've had to take it back to the shop for this about 4 times since cause it won't drive on D) and now, I'm told I need to replace the catalytic convertor. Seems like the domino effect. My friend was teasing me about having a stalker, but now I'm actually thinking that maybe someone had a hand in it. Is it paranoia?

Honda is not as it was 20 years ago.

No it's 7 years old

Both Percyqted and Kenny above have valid points.

Lately, it seems like taking your car to the shop is like going to the doctor…
you go in with one set of problems and come out with seven more!

Alternator is a wear item like tires. They simply wear out over time. The transmission issue is a known problem with the Odyssey. They all fail. Honda was doing some goodwill repairs for a while, but yours is too old to qualify.

A cat converter fails if you have an internal oil leak, engine has misfires or a leaking fuel injector, coolant leak etc.---or, if you drive over a curb. Before you replace it, find out why it failed so the new one doesn't fail
