What transmission fluid should I use in a 1992 Honda prelude?
What transmission fluid should I use in a 1992 Honda prelude?
You did not tell if it is standard or automatic this would you what fluid to use go to dealer they can tell you good luck
If it is an automatic transmission, it was designed to use Honda ATF-Z1. It has since been replaced by the much more expensive DW-1 and it may be hard to find Z1. If a manual, use Honda MTL. DO NOT use 30W motor oil, which was used for years back when motor oil had plenty of ZDDP in it.
For Auto transmission (Including differential gear oil): Dexron-II E ATF
For Manual transmission (Including differential): SAE 10W-30 or 10-W40 API SG
- Should I buy a honda prelude 1992-96? Can you guys tell me the cons & pros of it. I also it heard a lot problems with preludes & I want my car automatic not stick shift. Any help would good thank you.
- Transmission going out on friend's 2004 Impala. Is it possible to install a manual transmission taken from a 1992 Honda Civic in this car? Not worth replacing trans on a car this old, but the engine and everything else are still perfect. My friend was able to get a free manual trans from a 1992 Honda Civic. But i'm not sure whether or not you can use a trans from a different vehicle
- Is it hard to do an oil change on a 1992 honda prelude automatic transmission? So i have an automatic 92 honda prelude. Its a 2.2l engine non vtech, and I've been wondering if i should do an oil change on the tranny. Main questions i have are, is it hard? Would i need to change the filter? Or simply just drain out the oil and add new oil in? Any help will be well appreciated. I want to do this on my own i don't want to spend over 100 dollars at an auto shop lol.
- When should a 2012 Honda Civic need its transmission fluid changed, or serviced? The vehicle has 83,000 miles? Lots of highway driving for a three year old car. Drives perfectly, no problems, just trying to look ahead.
