They're basically all the same. I prefer the ones that come with an alarm. Then you can remote-start the car and still have the alarm armed.
Why do you need a remote starter?
A proper parking heater is better. Uses less fuel and gets the car warm either on a timer or remote start.
No issues with security systems and you get to start a ready warmed car.
Hi these devices are either fitted or not it is not an extra which can be fitted after wards.
You can stick with a factory option if you like it to be covered with the car warranty, but it will cost you an arm and a leg.
I agree with ronich69, an alarm with that function would be best. A separate alarm and remote starter unit from different brands would have conflicts, and would require an electronics expert to make it work together.
Stick with the name brands like Viper, and have pros install them so the warranty is covered. Do not go cheap or they won't last and create more problems in the future.
- Motorcycle starter over heated starter and only the solenoid clicked so i rebuilt the starter n tested it with a battery n it worked fine? Put it back in bike and again only the solenoid clicks… Is there a fuse for the starter or a relay i may have blown? 1988 honda hurricaine 1000F i'm ready to hang it up but the bike runs so good when it runs. i ran out of gas n kept trying to start it till battery was dead and that is how it got this way. Please and thank-you starter works fine when hooked up to a battery off the bike. what gives?
- Install PA system in honda crosstour? I have a pa system and wire extension from the speaker to the car battery. The wire that goes from the speaker to the mic is too short to reach inside my cabin. Does anyone have any idea on how to get the mic into the cabin while connected to the battery? I have 25ft cable from the battery to speaker so I can place it pretty much anywhere. And what is a good way to reach the mic into the cabin?
- I have a Honda GSV 190 mower engine with a broken starter rope and stud stuck in starter that I can't remove. Any ideas would be great When removing the nuts holding the recoil starter in place the nut on the front of the starter is stuck. When I try to remove it the whole stud come out of the engine. Leaving the engine cover stuck to the starter preventing me from replacing the rope. I have tried everything I can think of to remove it with no luck. Heres what it looks like. http://www.ereplacementparts.com/bolt-stud-h425mm-p-554740.html
- After replacing our car battery, our remote starter just turns and turns without actually starting the car? My wife has a 2010 Honda Fit and we just had to replace the battery. We got a remote starter installed from Best Buy in either 2010 or 2011. But after the recent battery replacement, the remote starter responds by just cranking and not starting. It does like three sets of cranking before stopping. I don't remember the brand of remote starter, but anyone have any insight of what I need to do?
