I'm considering a 2005 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100 it's for 3100 dollars. Is it a good starter bike?

Start with one 1/10th that displacement.

Comparable to my 99 800 Vulcan, I found Honda's (when I was shopping around) to be a bit on the top heavy side. The seat height is very low and the bike is fairly short on the wheelbase. If you're a tall person, you'll be cramped.

The price is good. GO for it

Rather big bike as a starter.
If you've never ridden before you may not understand but by 'big' I mean heavy and hand pushing a heavy bike can cause some mishaps and THEY AREN'T EASY to lift back UP.

hint- beginners NEVER do a slo/no drop more than three times.

Yes

An 1100cc bike is idiotic as a starter bike. You'd be dead inside a week.

Too large and heavy. Hard to learn good control at low speed, where large and heavy are a detriment.

Even heavier than the sportster you already asked about. Also a pain in but to work on if needed. I would look for a 450 Honda Rebel or a 600 CC honda VLX. Its a cool little V twin cruiser and its a softail so looks like a rigid frame.
