1983 Honda CB550 Nightwing?

I recently bought a 1983 honda cb550 nightwing, on the way home ran great, started but pop. Went to work that night it was great. The next it wouldnt turn over, none of the lights came on, nothing, not even a click. However few hours later i could get lights to come on, i checked the battery terminals, negative was loose, tightened it, started up great. Again later that day while riding it completely cut out, stopped running, all lights went out. Can't get it going now for the life of me, is this a simple battery issue? Maybe just swap out or try charging it? Or something bigger?

Suppose you could have screened cleansed & stiffened your battery pack terminals. Really does everything power operate? Or else may well be a been unsuccessful assistance join as well as absolutely useless battery pack. While Keith explained get a multimeter & discover how to apply it. As well as shell out a motor vehicle elec a couple of months gasoline fees.

Assume you've tested cleaned & tightened the battery terminals. Does anything electric work? If not may well be a failed service fuse or completely dead battery. As Keith said buy a multimeter & learn to use it. Or pay an auto elec a few months fuel costs

Since it start occasionally my guess would be a loose or corroded wire or connection. If you know how to use a multimeter get testing, if not, buy one and start learning. Electrical problems cost big bucks cause it usually takes quite a while to find them.

Take the battery to Auto Zone or a parts store of your choice and have it tested. The previous owner knew the battery was going so they charged it up just before you arrived.
