98 honda accord transmission conversion?
Well my friend bought me a 98 Honda accord. I told them I wanted stick, but they insisted automatic because I "race" so they got me a 98 Honda with only 53 k on it believe it or not. I really has no say so it choice of car because they where paying for me. It has a VTEC engine once I popped the hood, the car is slightly modded and would love to have it as a manual trans but how much would it run me? And is it worth it? It probably not worth it but still would like to no the price and other peoples opinions.
Leave it alone. You will spend crazy money to do the conversion. It is not just the trans but you will need to change ECM and transmission computers too. If you want a stick drive it for a bit just to keep your friends happy that you like the car. Then sell it a bit down the road and get what you want. I hope your not street racing. I have to tell you being a 59 year old auto tech you kids have no idea what a real race car is. Rice burnners are just not it. Get yourself a big block chevelle real horsepower and torque.
Would need a complete parts car sitting in your driveway to make sure you have all parts there. Better off like last post mentions keep it then find what you want
- Transmission going out on friend's 2004 Impala. Is it possible to install a manual transmission taken from a 1992 Honda Civic in this car? Not worth replacing trans on a car this old, but the engine and everything else are still perfect. My friend was able to get a free manual trans from a 1992 Honda Civic. But i'm not sure whether or not you can use a trans from a different vehicle
- Honda Civic 1992 hatchback awd conversion? I'm 16 years old, I own a Honda Civic 1992 hatchback, it currently has a d15b7 motor. I'm about to start working a part time with my father and I'm very interested in converting my Honda into an awd, I know it's expensive but I want to do it step by step. So I would like a list of what I need to make this possible.

I would like to know what parts would i need and from what cars also if any of you guys have done it before. How did you do it and what challenges did you face along with how you fixed those challenges.
- Can you put a 7 speed manual transmission in a car that comes stock with a 4 or 5 speed manual transmission? I'm just curious to know if this is possible or if anyone has tried it. I wany to know what is possible to get the most out of a car. I'm probably going to be getting an acura(no hondas) and doing the necessary upgrades, turbo and all that. If anyone has any experience let me know
