Is a 1991 Honda Accord at $1200 with 93000 miles a good deal?

This is my first car I'm gonna buy and this car is really good shape the only thing cons it has is that the speed sensor doesn't work and the radio button is broken other then that is very clean no rust. So should I buy?

Nope

Does it have a clear title? How about current registration and inspection? Did you have it inspected by a certified mechanic? If you can say yes to all three and the seller can show you proof of the vehicle's service and maintenance receipts then it might be worth a grand.

Have the frame, brake & fuel lines checked for severe rust, and if it can pass the smog emission test, it's worth $1,200.

Yes

A critical question is when the timing belt was replaced. You can't take the seller's assurance it was done sometime because it if wasn't the car engine will be damaged way beyond the $1200 mark in the blink of an eye sometime soon. Replacement of the belt and associated parts will set you back about $500 if it has not been done in the last 7 years.

There are a lot of other potential problems with a 27 year old Honda - if you get serious about it, pay the $100 or so to have your own mechanic inspect it. A bad head gasket, for instance, means the car is not worth repairing. If there's Blue Devil in the coolant the car is junk.

Seems fair if its got a clean title and no problems

Depends on what a mechanic that YOU chose says, and what the maintenance records show. Nothing else matters.
