Are Kia and Hyundai the only two affordable midsize cars that are worth getting besides the Honda and Toyota?

Subaru.

Kia and Hyundai ae the cars that give your the best value relative to cost.
Honda and Toyota are often better, but significantly more costly.
For a safe car? Go with Subaru.

No.

Top 4 selling cars in the USA are all Subaru's. Cost is comparative to Kia and Hyundai.

Hyundai is not as affordable as you might think and they tend not to stand behind warranties.

My mechanic says Hyundai and Kia are "junk".

The two car makers I look at first are Mazda and Subaru.
I would never consider a Fiat, Kia, Hyundai, Honda or GM product to purchase.
If I couldn't find a Subaru or Mazda- then I look for a Ford product.
Before I gave up (meaning I don't think I would get this desperate because my primary choices are all gone) I would consider a Toyota.

Mazdas are good if you like Japanese - and who doesn't.

Hi so Hyundai is the parent company and Kia is an off shoot company. Both made is southern Korea. The japanese makers are the supreme and most reliable. Toyota, honda, subaru and mitsubishi. And also isuzu.

I would say yes.
