All cars have transmission fluid in their gearboxes.

Every vehicle that has a gearbox has a transmission that needs transmission fluid so yes it does

All transmissions have either gear oil or transmission fluid in them. If they did not, they would overheat and seize in no time.

In answer to the question you pose in the other comments, there's a fill port on the front of the transmission. It is about halfway up and looks like a threaded plug not quite an inch in diameter with a hole in the end that takes a 3/8 inch driver, like a socket has. The fill plug is unscrewed and you can feel inside just a bit with your fingertip. If you feel oil, it is still full. If not, Honda MTL (available at the Honda dealer) is added with a hose until it starts coming back out, then the plug is put in and tightened.

If the transmission needs much oil the axle seals should be checked by a mechanic. The oil should not be leaking out. It would be a good idea to have a mechanic do all this - it is not expensive to refill the gearbox.

My goodness: Yes, all car and truck does. Look at the picture that I've included for your 1993 Civic below (Look at the two RED arrows)

Checking the fluid level is just like Flag Michael said. Above. Does a 1993 honda civic has transmision fluid - 1
