How much to fix my starter solenoid?
I have a 2008 Honda Civic EX. Pretty sure the contacts on the starter solenoid are worn out.
I'm gonna have to go to a mechanic so approximately how much would it cost to get this fixed?
If it's just the solenoid, can the contacts just be fixed on the part, or should the whole starter be replaced?
Personally when things start getting worn like that I like to replace it with a new one because I want it to be dependable you can't rely on things when they start getting worn out like that. My advice is to bite the bullet and get a new starter from a Honda dealers parts department. And replacing it yourself can save money when it comes to things like this but if you want to pay someone to do it for you then only get the part from Honda don't ask the dealer to fix it way too expensive take the part and the car to a ma and pop garage. The last thing you want to happen is to be stranded somewhere.
Most likely a high quality reman starter be will close to parts&labor to do a solenoid and there will be no warranty on the rest of the old starter.
And how exactly did you accurately diagnose that it was the "starter solenoid contacts"? I don't quite see how a starter could fail so soon - I just replaced the factory original starter on my '98 Accord a few months ago.
However, in the unlikely event that that's actually the issue, just replace the whole starter so that you don't have more trouble later on. If the "contacts" really did fail (does it have some aftermarket or counterfeit junk starter on it?) then the starter will fail soon too. A decent Bosch or genuine Honda (much preferred) starter will cost about $200 or $400, respectively.

Put it back in bike and again only the solenoid clicks… Is there a fuse for the starter or a relay i may have blown? 1988 honda hurricaine 1000F i'm ready to hang it up but the bike runs so good when it runs. i ran out of gas n kept trying to start it till battery was dead and that is how it got this way. - I have a Honda GSV 190 mower engine with a broken starter rope and stud stuck in starter that I can't remove. Any ideas would be great When removing the nuts holding the recoil starter in place the nut on the front of the starter is stuck. When I try to remove it the whole stud come out of the engine. Leaving the engine cover stuck to the starter preventing me from replacing the rope. I have tried everything I can think of to remove it with no luck. Heres what it looks like. http://www.ereplacementparts.com/bolt-stud-h425mm-p-554740.html
- How can i fix this Honda Dio? Can i fix it by my own? I wanted to check the front brakes, si i started and raced it holding the front brakes alone. My fingers sliped from the break and I crashed my Dio straight to the wall. Reffer the picture.
- I think my rotors are broken, how much to fix them? I have a 2003 Honda Civic. When I break sometimes the car moves back and forth and the steering wheel moves back and forth when I'm driving. I'm pretty sure it's the rotors but not 100% sure. Anyone know what it could be and if it is the rotors how much it could cost?
