What's average cost for car 30,000 maintenance service?
I have a 2013 CR-V that I bought a few months back. Just got the oil changed at the dealership and they told me that I the car will be due for its 30,000 maintenance service in the winter. The honda service center charges $525 for the service. Is this average?
That's craziness! See in your maintenance schedule what services are to be performed, and hit a Midas or Firestone instead.
Don't take your car to a 'franchise' repair shop for a 'cheap' price. Such shops are known to do second-rate work.
You'll pay more at a Honda dealer, but you'll protect your warranty. You could also find a good independent shop. Ask around for a recommendation, or try using Angie's List. Always keep your service receipts.
There might be things on the dealer's recommended 30k plan that you might not actually need. Get a copy of the actual Honda service schedule, and then do only the items on the schedule.
