Advice on an aftermarket stereo?
So I just bought a 2004 honda pilot with a dvd player in the back. What is a good aftermarket stereo with a back up camera (or ability to add one) that will connect to the dvd player? I also want to keep the steering wheel controls. Also, what wiring harness, etc. Do i need to install it?
You'll need: 1) Metra 70-1721 (or similar from PAC or Scosche) wiring harness; 2) Metra 95-7861 (again - or similar) dash kit for double-DIN headunit); and 3) PAC SWI-RC steering wheel control interface.
I'd recommend a good high-quality headunit. Alpine, Kenwood, and Pioneer would be my top choices. JVC, Blaupunkt, and Clarion would be acceptable. Brands like Sony and Jensen will probably work OK, but the overall quality and sound probably won't even be as good as the stock system your Pilot currently has installed. "Noname" brands and "mass advertising" brands like Boss Audio, Axxera, and Rydeen aren't worth considering for a Pilot. Such cheap audio equipment should be installed only in old noisy junkers.
I'd recommend that you visit Crutchfield"s web site and put your vehicle details into their "What Fits" app. You should probably also consider purchasing your equipment from them. Crutchfield isn't the lowest priced online source, but their customer service is the very best. If you purchase from them, the installation accessories (wiring harness, antenna adapter (if required), dash kit, and steering wheel controls interface) will be at no additional cost (or at a greatly reduced cost). In addition, you get unlimited installation assistance, unlimited technical support and they provide you with a vehicle specific "master sheet" that details the step-by-step installation procedure.

- Is it okay to use an aftermarket AC condenser in my 2011 Honda Fit? I need to replace a leaking AC condenser in my Honda Fit. The dealer quoted me a ton so I'm taking it to an AC repair shop. However, the repair shop doesn't use parts from the original manufacturer. The owner told me that the aftermarket condenser has the same specifications though. My concern is that the dealer warned me about aftermarket parts because the pressures involved could mess up other parts. Should it be okay as long as the specifications are the same?
