Why do older Hondas rarely have factory stereos?

Whenever I see Hondas for sale online (mostly pre 2000 Accords and Civics), about 75% of them have aftermarket stereos. I thought Honda was well-known for having decent factory stereos, so I don't understand why the stereos are replaced. Is it for parts? Are the stereos bad after all?

Car issues, 91 Honda Accord?

Well i don't know what the issue is, buying the car for cheap with high miles i knew id have to fix it. But we needed one immediately. So the Tachometer (next to the speedometer) i think thats what its called… The thing that shows you "gears" shifting… Will randomly drop to zero, then we can't accelerate or anything and then itll jump and skip between the numbers while still rolling, then itll go back and we can drive again but itll do it for a while. Or itll seem like stuck or laggy trying to shift. I thought transmission cause my last car did that when it died and they wanted me to replace it. But if i take it in i know i'm gonna hear about so many issues so any suggestions?
