Is the mazda 3 a very slow car when it comes to performance?

I'm NOT talking about the mazdaspeed 3, i mean the regular 3. I have a 2006 mazda 3 i touring sedan with a 5 speed manual.

my question is compared to other 4 cylinder vehicles is it slow?
for example if a 1998 nissan altima gxe, honda crv and a 2007 camry le and a 2008 honda accord where on the track, how would a 2006 mazda 3i do against these other 4 cylinder vehicles that are larger. Could it beat any of these on the track? For example, on a dig, quarter mile, handling, on a roll and straightline acceleration?

Should I get a new car for college?

I start college this fall but I don't know to buy a new or used car. I have a full job currently but I will traveling around 50-65 miles daily. I don't want a hybrid, had one and it was a pain in the *** during the summer with it. I don't want a sport car or a small compact car. I'm tall and my head always be touching roof of cars. I have my mind right now on a new Honda Civic or a used '16 Honda CRV.
