Why will my scooter start hard after sitting for a week?

I have a Honda Lead AF20 from 1998 (I'm not sure, though) and in it 36200 km. I bought it at about 35900 km but we (I and my father) repaired or replaced a lot of things on it. They were: battery, piston, cylinder, cylinder head(not sure if it's called cylinder head but it's the thing in which the plug sits)self-starting electro-motor, bendix, bearings, seals, and there was something ugly amateurish work on the carburator with the seal of the(/a) needle going in the carburator. If I'm not wrong, that was the choke.
So, the problem is that after sitting for about a week it really struggles to start. The battery and the self starting is good, there's very good compression and the pug is also good. The self-starting electro-motor has to turn the engine for about 20-30 seconds to get the engine going. Whilst the motor struggles to start the engine, I can smell petrol and when it sstarts, it coughs out a lot of white smoke. It did it before and after the repairing, but when it sits for only 3-4-5 days it starts at the second I press the start button. If the waiting exceeds the one week, it will not get worse, I mean, it sat this winter for at least 2 months and after 30 seconds it started.
After the struggling starts it is weak until the white smoke comes out of it.

What can cause this problem? Might it be carburator or fuel-pump related?

Going from a 335i to a Mazda Miata?

I own a BMW 335i with terrible reliability issues. Of course I'm not going to tell the dealer I'm trading my car into about the issues, but it is the main motive for me getting rid of the car.

The car is still under warranty but it's paid off fully. I estimated the value of the car to be $30,000 based on Autotrader searches and the KBB resale value.

I'm actually thinking of going for something Japanese because I know it'll be more reliable. The only Japanese cars that interest me are the Miata and the Honda S2000. However, it's tough to find a Honda S2000 in good condition and I would much rather prefer a brand new car over a used one.

Do you think adapting to a Miata will be easy?

I rarely drive and I don't carry lots of groceries. I live alone & live in a big city. I usually walk to the store to pick things up. My car only takes me to work and the occasional road trip with my boyfriend.

So basically, I know the size of the Miata is not an issue. I'm just concerned about the comfort and build quality.
I test drove one and it seemed fine (in fact, it was so fun to drive that I didn't want to hand it back) but it was only for 30 minutes.

Added (1). Yes, I'm aware that I might have to spend a couple thousand $ to trade into a Miata.

Yes, I'm also aware that most Miatas are stick shift. My current car is stick shift so it's no problem.

Added (2). The wind noise was slightly louder than my current car on the highway but it's not significantly worse. The car lacked a backup camera too but it's the size of a couch so I doubt I'll even need one

Can I use motor oil to lube carb seals on my Honda Magna?

Can I use motor oil to lube carb seals on my Honda Magna? - 1

Added (1). My main concern is that new seals make it very hard to press the two parts of the carb rack together, and I don't want to put undue stress on 31 year old brittle plastic fuel tubes that can't be had for love or money.

Added (2). C'mon, Candid Chris. Where are you?

How to get out of a car lease?

I recently leased a honda in August, and I'm not fully happy with my decision although it is a very nice car. I initially wanted a jeep wrangler but they didn't have the one i wanted that s within my price range. I looked all over and no one had it, so i settled for the Honda. So my question is how much would it cost me if i were to get out of my lease and get a wrangler. What can i do? I know i shouldve waited but i was too excited about purchasing my first car.

Is any luxury car worth it?

I could buy a Mercedes with heated seats, fancy interior, and overall luxury. But is it really worth an extra 20k? Does it get me anything that a Honda doesn't?

Advice for an Electrical Engineering drop out?

So I'm proud to say I made it all the way to linear algebra -one class beyond diff eq. I took all the calc based physics I needed & all that circuit jazz. Today might be my last day. Looking around, there wasn't a lot of us left. I'm looking to join that group, but not because of poor grades or my disinterest in physics; I just want some raw experience. I want to sell my belongings, hop in my Honda, & take off from Minnesota to somewhere…

I have $4k in my savings. I went to a community college my first year half, so I owe Sallie Mae [only] $9k. I have a grace period after the end of the semester so I have quite a bit of time & I'll probably open up another account, stick a grand or two in it & set up automated payments & forget about that ***** for a while.

What should I do? Where should I go?

I want to head somewhere warm. My dream was to go into research, maybe find a substitute for silicon. The world could use a new transistor. Reality is… It's just too out of reach for me. Undergrad >> grad school… Uhh & the $$$.

Now my dream is to go out on my own & btw, I'm kicking myself for not tossing the breadboard aside & gone straight into programming. I'm clever. How long you think it'd take me to learn how to develop apps? 2 years? I have a few ideas…

Btw, I'll be leaving Uni on good terms. I mean, I'll have failed this semester's courses because I'll stop going but I don't think the instructors here care.
