Good cars over 100,000 miles?

I'm looking to purchase a used car. I have a budget of $7600 and everything I'm finding is over 100,000 miles or kept in poor condition. I talked to one of my friends who is a mechanic and he told me that mileage is everything but I can't find anything low mileage in my price range. He told me to look at Toyota and Honda but I really don't like either. My question is what other cars should I be looking into purchasing?

Used car under 7k with fold down rear seats or wagon configuration?

I'm currently used car shopping and I need fold down rear seats to haul my stage piano. To get an idea of why I can't just strap it to the roof or use a passthrough, this this is practically a small coffin. Refer to link for dimensions:

Here is what I'm hoping to find in the car, and yes I realize these goals are at odds occasionally, so they are prioritized.

Reliable (Honda/Toyota and their luxury equivalents preferred)
Around 2004-2006 model year (flexible)
It can get out of its own way (I find the 3.9L in an 2006 impala to be slow, but I feel like the 3.2Ls in Honda/Acura etc to be snappy enough)
Not going to break the bank on insurance

The only options I'm currently aware of are 2006-2011 model year Chevy Impalas. I was hoping to get a 2004 Acura TL but I just discovered that they don't have fold down seats. Any help would be appreciated.

And no, I'm not getting a truck as I live in a metropolitan area and want to use this primarily for commuting.

Small family car for learning to drive?

Hi, I was wanting some help to do with what car to buy. The basic rundown is that I'm wanting a car a 17 year old can learn to drive in, so there's the obvious of low insurance, safety and reliability etc. It needs five seats as it will also be used as a general family car and can be up to about £6000.
I have been looking around and so far am leaning towards the Honda Jazz, but any advice on the subject would be very much appreciated.

Why are conventional Nissans so weak?

I'm talking about everyday Nissan engines, not for racing…

Nissan Livina 1.8 only has 122 horsepower, equivalent to a 1.6 of any other brand.

The 2.5 of the X-Trail only churns out 168 horsepower, while a Toyota 2.5 would make it to 180 hp, while a Honda 2.4 makes it to 185. A Hyundai 2.4 can make it to 194 hp.

Nissan Armada 5.6 VK56DE gives out only 317 hp, while a Toyota 5.7 (of the Tundra) has 381 horsepower. A Hyundai 3.8 V6 can do better, with 344 hp!

Even the award winning VQ35 of the Altima would do 10 hp less than any other 3.5 V6

Nissan 1.6's would only do around 110 hp, Honda's 1.5 can do better with 118 hp.

MRA8DE 1.8 would only do 130 horsepower, Honda's would do 140. MR20DE 2.0 does 137 hp (YOU MAD BRO?) a regular 2.0 does 150 hp above!

Can anyone explain why Nissan tunes their engines so weak? Or they are naturally weak?

What are some things I need to know about The Honda Indy Toronto race?

On July 20th I'm going to the Honda Indy Race in Toronto with my boyfriend. This is my first time going to any type of race and I don't really know a lot about Car races but I don't want to go without knowing what's going on and I don't wanna feel stupid when he starts talking about these things.
