How and why does a hybrid car manufacturer get away with false advertising on gas mileage?

The Honda Civic hybrid (2015) does NOT get the gas mileage advertised, so far. While it advertises mileage of 44 city/47 highway (45 average) the fact is so far I'd be lucky if it breaks 35 average, and has only gotten up to about 30 at most in the two weeks I've owned it and driven it in a variety of traffic conditions - both city and highway. Seems to me I may have been bamboozled, but how does Honda get away with it?

Added (1). I never wrote anything about a contract! I mentioned advertising (false advertising, to be exact), such as the window sticker, which I still have and looked at today! What am I supposed to do, drive 10 mph under the speed limit to get the mileage?

My Honda Civic keeps overheating and accelerates very slow?

I have Honda Civic 98 EX coupe, and it overheats very quick, i replaced a leaking hose, i got the headgasket replaced, a new thermostate and it still overheats, the car also doesn't accelerate at the rate it should, i could have my foot flooring the gas pedal but it will take forever to eve reach 60 mph.

1996 Honda Civic shaking rumbling motor?

I had a problem with my civic just a few days ago. A radiator hose had blown due to pressure build up so we replace the thermostat and everything worked okay again. Yesterday I noticed the engine rumbling for a second but went away. I drove to work today and was okay until i stopped at a gas station and cut the car off. When i cranked it up it was began to shake and rumble excessively. It accelerates extremely slow and shakes until i keep it at a constant speed. I checked the oil and it is pkay but does need a change. Transmission oil is still good. Radiator is full. Nothing is over heating. No signs of a blown head gasket. It shakes similiar to my old Accord when the fuel injectors went bad but dosent give off the same smell. What could this be? I'm going to see a mechanic during my lunch

1994 Honda Civic popping?

I have a 1994 Honda Civic Del Sol. Currently I'm having an issue with it sort of "popping" whether I'm in idle or driving. It does it at random. I have tested and it does this in P, D, and N. When it happens, the car physically lurches just a tiny bit. Its only like a half a second or less. It worries me though as I like to be pro active about my cars. I have so far replaced the spark plugs, changed the air filter, and replaced the distributor cap and rotor. Any idea what could be going on? Yes, the CEL is on, but I don't have a way to test this old of a car.

How to turn off the backup camera on a 2015 Honda Civic?

I take my driver's test tomorrow, and many instructors won't let you use it(New Jersey). My backup plan as of right now is to just tape a piece of thick construction paper over the screen for the parallel parking section, but I'd rather not do that.

1993 Honda Civic making noise when Turning?

It's not like a power steering noise I don't think. It's kind of like clicking or something and I mostly hear it by the drivers side but I'm not sure. If it is the CV axle how much would it cost to fix?

1996 Honda Civic coolant not flowing?

My Honda has had random random radiator hoses literally busting lately. We thought it was just old hose problems till another popped and we heard it. The gauge in the car isn't reading hot but does after running for a while. The coolant is not circulating at all. The radiator iself is steaming. There's no signs of a blown head gasket at all. The radiator nor the hoses are leaking. What is the problem?
