Are Trucks and SUV's and MiniVans good daily driving cars?

I mean its great to have them but i NEVer really understood why people drive them since they are gas hogs.

Like my supervisor drives a 2017 Sierra Elevation and he says he goes camping/hunting in the fall time so the storage on the Sierra is helpful, but he is a supervisor at a meat factory not sure if he carries any equipement for him at work.

My neighbor is an elementary school teacher and she drives a 2019 Honda Odyssey. She has 3 kids which makes sense, but they all take the school bus to and from school. I mean probably going to Church or something of course it is helpful for the minivan, but going to work 5 days a week in a minivan isn't that too much on gas?

Like they all tell me its cheaper for us to have 1 large car than 1 large car and 1 sedan to use when we don't need to have a big car.

I have 1 friend who has 2 kids and has a Rav 4. The Rav 4 saves a lot of gas apparently even if he is the only driver in it.

Added (1). Cause sometimes I'm like damn so if you want to go to the store you'd have to drive your truck all the way there and then come back? I mean did you really need the truck just to get that 1 item at the store?

2000 Honda Odyssey Question?

If my honda odyssey engine shuts off while driving and the dashboard lights up like a christmas tree and the codes P1361 and P1366 come up, what is the likely problem? I was able to start up engine and drive with no further issues.
