I'm looking for my first car. All I care is that it is not too expensive, its reliable, and its safe. What is the best model for that and why? If there are multiple types of cars within that model, which type should is the best and why?

I kind of don't want a Honda or a Toyota so are there any other car brands that have reliable cars?

So i have an automatic 92 honda prelude. Its a 2.2l engine non vtech, and I've been wondering if i should do an oil change on the tranny. Main questions i have are, is it hard? Would i need to change the filter? Or simply just drain out the oil and add new oil in? Any help will be well appreciated. I want to do this on my own i don't want to spend over 100 dollars at an auto shop lol.
