I'm about to get my license in a few days, and I will be buying a BMW from my cousin, and he is a mechanic so I trust him. He has a number of BMWs which he drives himself, and as a mechanic, he sees BMWs as a reliable car. He owns many BMWs, he buys from auctions, primarily specializes in BMW as a mechanic but fixes other cars too as a part of his job.
I know I'm going to have a lot of answers saying BMW is a bad choice for a first car for teen, but in the province I live in, BMWs are cheaper on insurance than Toyotas and Hondas as a result of a safer, stronger body, as well as low theft rates BMWs have, according to an insurance company I spoke to. My cousin even recommends BMW as a first car, and he is a mechanic. My dad says I should learn from his experience and get a Toyota, but Toyota is more on insurance, and I at more of a risk of any imjuries in such a car since it dos not have a safe body, which is one of the main reasons I'm not getting one. I work a part time job earning minimum wage.
When the cold harsh winter season comes, I want a car that is safe, consumes less fuel, good on gas, and such. Any recommendations?
Added (1). And say "ask your cousin, he should tell you blah blah blah", I just wany recommendations. The model and year as well. Any other specific info are welcome.
Ill be buying my first car in a couple of weeks and I'm having a hard time deciding what to get. This will be my first car and will be buying a brand new one, my budget would be under 25k no higher. Ill be using it to get to school and back which is an estimate of 45 miles everyday. I'm looking for a midsize sedan since I'm not a big fan of compact cars so i'm leaning towards getting a 2015 VW passat limited edition although I've became skeptical with hearing bad reviews of the VW line I'm kinda thinking about getting a hyundai sonata now since its gotten a lot better looking and has pretty good reviews and reliability has gotten a lot better. My question is what do you guys think about the VW passat besides it being expensive to fix because ill be willing to pay for it, or if I should go with the hyundai instead? Also any other suggestions like the honda accord or toyota camry and what makes them good any midsize sedans that you guys find reliable, I need to explore my options.
I need help with my 99 2.3L Honda Accord, I've been searching but I can't find information on it, when first driven my shift fine, but after 5-10 mins of driving it starts to downshift on its own although I'm giving it gas and than it just stays in first, I got theses codes when I went to go get it checked out: P0705 P0706 P1739 P1259. I don't know what I need to do but It needs to get done I don't know what it could be.
2002 Honda accord strange occurrence and can't figure it out. The one low beam was out so I went to replace the bulb I twisted the plug out of the headlight itself and the low beam came on stayed on for a while then went out put it back into the headlight, pulled it out again and the same thing I tried this a few times and every time I pull the plug and bulb out the bulb lights up?
It's supposedly connects all four of the hoses from the radiator and engine so the coolant can pass through both. The bottom pipe where the bottom hose is connected is rusted and coolant sprays everywhere. Also if someone can give me an idea where to go to get this part I would greatly appreciate it. My car is a 1988 Honda Accord LXI
So I'm a first time buyer and I'm looking for a sporty car that's not listed as sport with car insurance. My budget is $19500. Some cars that I'm interested in:
2015 Mazda 3
2015 Honda CR Z
2015 Honda Accord Coupe
2015 Hyundai Veloster.
If you have any other suggestions please share.
Added (1). Do you think it'd be possible to negotiate with a car dealer and get one of those for $19,500? I know the Honda CR-Z is listed as 22,000
I have a Honda Accord 2012 LX I think I overfilled the tranny fluid. It's a little bit overfill from the full mark. Is there any damage to the tranny if I leave it like that?
Added (1). When the engine reached to the normal temp. I check the dipstick. It said a little bit over from the full mark. Is that okay?
