I have a 2005 Honda Civic that seems to be leaking combustion gases into the cooling system. No external leaks and no signs of oil in coolant, but the car would heat up after a good 30 min drive.
Since the vehicle is old, I'm not sure if I want to get an expensive repair or seal it with a head gasket sealer (mainly because i'm not sure if it will actually fix, and if it is good long-term).
Any ideas?
My 2005 Honda Civic LX had a coolant leak. Replaced the radiator, thermostat, and hoses. I filled the system up with 50/50 and water. Bled it completely of air and everything seems fine until I drive for about 30 mins straight.
I'm positive that it isn't a head gasket problem because I have no coolant in my oil or vice versa. I have no signs of leaks, but gauge begins to move up after a long drive and overheats.
I'm completely lost because I have no leaks whatsoever, No air is in the system because it was properly bled (a few times at that), and coolant is full! What else could it be? My water pump doesn't show any signs is wear but my only guess is that my thermostat is faulty or water pump is weak. Any ideas?
I'm looking to buy a cheap car, and the owner Is selling this for $700. Good condition. Is it worth it to all my car guys out there? I know nothing about cars
I currently have a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe which I hate, it is a very bad car, and I don't want another SUV. I was looking into getting a new car, I can get a good deal on a 2015 Honda Civic EX. Is that a good car? It looks pretty nice but I don't know if it's reliable or not, because my current car isn't. It always breaks down.
I ALWAys see them on the road.
I mostly see eiher the LX which has hub caps or the EX. I do see the Touring models sometimes I know because of its LED headlights.
I heard good things about it like gas mileage, expenses
but is it spacious? Does it have an AWD terrain good for the snow? Does it pick up speed on the highway fast enough?

So before I start my spiel, there are probably going to be things you'll laugh at, and some may wonder why this is even a question.
With that being said, this is an actual issue that we're facing and yes, I know the driver in question is a complete idiot.
Without further ado;
My boyfriend is not very good with cars. In fact, he goes through them like underwear. That is why I told him that his next car is going to be an old Civic or a Camry because you dang near have to try to break those.
Well, low and behold; we had flash flooding in our area for the first time in a long time.
My boyfriend was driving down a very busy road during rush hour and everyone, including him, drove through knee high water.
He was among the lucky few that actually made it out.
As expected, the car did not make it out unphased. The car has issues starting every once in a while, the radio displays an "error" message, the turn signals sometimes blink very fast, and it has random electrical cut outs while driving.
Now, when the electrical does cut out, everything comes back on within a split second.
With all of that being said, Honda believes it's because his alternator is going out, but wants $150 to test the alternator.
Now, I find it really hard to believe with all things considering, it's the damn alternator.
But I'd like a second opinion before I spend $150 just for them to tell me it isn't what they said it might be.
I recently had my engine replaced. After the replacement the mechanic said it idles high, high isn't even the beginning. When the car is started after about 15 seconds the throttle pretty much starts going on it's on which revs up the rpms. This also occurs when slowing down at a stop sign or light. If I go too slow the car will start to jerk rapidly until I get to about 30mph if I let off the gas there's a thumping sound. If I lightly lean on the gas the jerking starts again. What could this be? The mechanic said there's a park missing that needs to be installed but I can't reach him any longer.
The pigtail for my wipers and sunroof blew on my 1992 Civic Si (EH3). I can't seem to find the part anywhere online or in store. I also have an EH2 Civic but that pigtail was a different size. Anyone have a part number or link for me to buy one? I need it As soon as possible so my wipers work.
And i just got my car back from being fixed at an autobody shop. They mentioned that my car took à pretty big hit so when i was driving home. I noticed that something Seems off when i waw driving m'y car and thé gas pedal vibrates.
What would be a cause for a gaz pedal To vibrate?
I drive a 2008 Honda Civic with 240k on it, today, I parked my car, put her in park and shut her off. I got back in later on, started her up and put her in reverse. When I tried to back out the steering wheel almost wouldn't move and the brake was the same way. I put her back in park, shut her off, turned her back on and everything was good. I have all new parts on it, or just about, and this is the first time it's happened as far as I know. Any advice on what this could be?
