2001 honda civic driving up to the mountains. Will 91 octane gas help?
My 08 Civic won't start. Came to the conclusion that it was the starter so I got a new, got under there to start working and that's when I noticed 2 broken wires hanging there. A pink wire and a black wire in shield tubing running to the wiring harness. Can anyone tell me what these are and where they go?
Have a couple questions related to buying/used cars.
1. Is insurance typically cheaper for older cars? Say 3+ years older or what actually dictates the price of insurance?
2. What are good car brands and models to buy that are reliable? I can only think of 2 that people say are reliable but i have no knowledge of cars in general; honda civics and subaru's
3. For someone who is buying used but what's to keep the car in good running shape for many years to come what mileage should i be looking for? I live in Hawaii so commute for me isn't very far but i will be using this car daily. I was trying to stay away from 100k+ or close to 100k like maybe 60k but i wanted to hear from others and there thoughts on cars with higher mileage.
4. Are older cars say from the 90's worth buying versus early 2000 models? I was looking at intergra's from the 90's they look alright imo, fairly cheap but since they are older imo not sure what i should expect when it comes to maintenance.
A couple months ago, the right turn signal was blinking faster than my left, so I replaced the bulb in the front / back since that usually means it'll burn out soon.
Last week, I got back in my car after work, and I didn't notice if it was already like this or until I turned the car on, but the right turn signal, front and back, and on the dash, was stuck on and lit solid. The turn handle was not on, but the light was solid and on. The left one was normal, and flashed but no clicking sound. And when i did turn on the right signal, it would go back to that fast clicking like before i changed the bulb.
i have a 2011 honda civic LX 4-door.
we checked the fuse, and the fuse itself is not broken in anyway, so we think it's the turn signal relay, but can't find where it's located or how to fix it.
any ideas?
Added (1). we did pull the fuse for now to turn off the light signals completely to save battery. Break lights and headlights still work. But it would just stay on and lit solid when the car was on or off. Like it was frozen on. Only the right side, front, back and dashboard arrow light. Not the left.
My personal mechanic says Mobil 1 is the best to use and he says he only uses it for his customers. He was saying the viscosity is better than Castrol or any other brand.
So my car is on lease so I have to go to the Honda dealer to get my 2017 Civic in. I ask for Mobil 1 5w-20 and he allows it but he says it may mess up the car and that he recommends using castrol. It is kinda weird because castrol was $30 cheaper than Mobil1 so i thought he wasn't trying to rip me off cause he actually wasn't.
