I have been having this issue with my bike that i just can't get an answer to. I have taken the bike to the mechanic but they would fix the wrong things and could never find what the problem is. My bike makes a loud clanking/grinding noise when the engine is cold but the clanking noise goes away when engine is warm. I have posted a video on youtube to let you see and hear the noise. I'm new to riding, but I understand the basics of how to shift (i.e. Close the throttle, pull in the clutch, pull up on the gear shift, release the clutch while throttling the engine). My issue is, is that I'm slowing way down when I try and change gears. Am I just shifting too slowly? I read elsewhere that I may not being getting my RPMs high enough before shifting as well, but I'm trying to shift in the 5k to 6k range.
I have a feeling that my issue could also being coming from the fact I'm taking it literally one step at a time (Close the throttle, THEN pull in the clutch, THEN gear shift, THEN release the clutch, THEN open the throttle again)
Any help would be appreciated.
(I'm riding a 2014 Honda CBR 650F, and yes I'm scheduled for a motorcycle safety course, but it's not for another month)
When I take it out its will Run and rev up in neutral and stay cranked when I change gears and when I take off its starts sputtering I'm not sure what's wrong I first Checked the gas and oil but that's all fine it's a Honda crf 150-4 stroke nice bike but hate that it's doing this please help

Ok i'm 20 ans iv always wanted to ride a motorcycle ever since i was little and now i have a full time job and want to ride. I heard about the 250s but i know that id be tired of it after like 4 to 5 months while riding. I was thinking of the honda cbr500 i'm 5'9 155 pounds. Also how much would insurance cost and the paynents per month i may put 1000 down but i'm not sure i just want to have a decent amount of pay per month not too much
Just got my endorsement, looking for a first bike. I stopped by a dealership (for fun really, I've been looking on Craigslist mostly). There's a 1989 Honda Hawk, nearly spotless with a few chips here and there. Dealership is asking $1,600 and I noticed they ve come down from $2000 since last month. I was looking to stay under $1500 and buy an injected bike but I really like this one. Thoughts?

I found a 1998 honda elite on craigslit in pretty good condition. Its pretty old but seems like it runs well. I'm not sure how many miles are on it but how many do you think it runs?

About a week ago I asked the community if a Honda CBR600rr is a good starter motorcycle for a 17 year old. Well I received many answers saying that it is not fun to ride a 160mph racing bike on the street and that I'd easily get into an accident, which is probably true. I've been doing some research and I've come across the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Honda CBR300r, which I've heard are great starter bikes. I prefer the Honda because it's lighter than the Kawasaki and it has a much nicer design. The engine on the Honda is only a 286cc which is probably enough for me since I'm only going to ride it to school and around my town. I'm not risking my life on the highway I'll tell you that! What are your guy's honest opinions?
So I've had my Honda rebel for about 2 years now and am wanting to move up. First off I'm a very small woman, I'm 5 3" and weigh around 120 lbs. My boyfriend is worried I can't handle a big bike and I'm just looking for someone a bit more knowledgeable on the subject. He doesn't want me to get anything bigger, but I feel I'm ready. Any thoughts?
