Traveling from Nor Cal to So Cal?

I'm driving from central California to San Diego and I'm driving my 1999 Honda Civic with 201K miles, engine runs like a champ and has a new catalytic converter and a bunch of new parts. I'm just kind of scared it won't make the up hill on interstate 5 in Kern County ("The Grapevine") so I was wondering if I go down US 101 (I know it's about 30 miles longer) but is there some type of really drastic up hill on 101 heading from Santa Barbara down to Los Angeles?

Reliability of a Jeep Patriot?

How reliable is a Jeep Patriot? 2008-2011 model range 2 wheel drive, automatic.

might buy a used 2010 from a friend 70,000 miles.

I know it's "how you take care of the vehicles and change what needs to be addressed"

But, realistically. Will it go to 200,000 miles?

my mothers 02 Chrysler minivan got up to 206,000 miles and my brothers 01 Honda civic is up to 221,000 miles and still going.

So, I would like to make it past 200,000 and join the family club, is it possible if i take care of it? In general is it a reliable vehicle?

Not all power locks are working?

I have a 2000 honda civic. The drivers side and the left rear lock works. But the passenger side and the right rear side doesn't work. What could be the problem? And how much will it cost to fix?

2011 Honda civic 1.8 dx model has ac problems at idle?

When driving at higher speeds the ac works fine. When you get to traffic (congestion) the ac stops working. Took it to a BIG SHOP everything is fine with the system. They said take it to Honda. What can be wrong with this ac system?

1996 Honda Civic Hatchback/EX?

First car, i'm thinking a non-riced out hatchback, for $3000.
Or, I can go for the EX model for the same price
What do you guys think? Any mechanics know of the usual problems or advantages both 1996 models have?

AC compressor going out, causing hesitation during acceleration?

2007 Honda Civic Hybrid

Just had freon put into my car. While the mechanic was putting it in, the compressor started cycling on and off.

He said that my compressor was about to go out and I should prepare to purchase a new one.

It stopped cycling after a couple of minutes, but when I started driving it, the cycling began again. First it would cycle repeatedly for about 5 - 10 cycles. Then once I drove a bit more, it stopped.

However, that was on a trip of over 80 miles, and my daily commute is only about 10-15 miles. So, as I drove it yesterday and today, it cycled the whole time too and from work.

I also noticed that while I'm accelerating, as the AC compressor is cycling on and off, it causes my car to hesitate very noticeably. While I'm on cruise control, the car hesitates sometimes as well.

What is your input on the issue, and what should I do to remedy the situation? I don't have a few hundred dollars to just drop on a new compressor, but tell me, is this my only option?

Is Honda Civic THE Best Car for College Student?

I'm looking for a good, reliable, fuel eff. 4 cyl car for my daughter to start college with in the Fall. I'm looking at the Chevy Cobalt, Dodge Neon & The Civic. Which is THE best for a 19year old college student? My budget is $7,000 Max.
Serious opinions only please!

Shifted from 6th to 2nd trying to get to 4th. What damage did I do?

I drive a 2012 Honda Civic Si. I can't remember the rpm, but it was loud as hell. I immediately put it into neutral and then put it into 4th as my speed was 65-75 and I wanted more rpm to pass a guy.

Since this incident, I noticed that the power dropped substantially. The car seems to drag when I push the pedal to the metal. It doesn't get up and go like it used to. Usually, my car hits 4,000 rpm and you can feel the pre-vtec boost then by 5,000 rpm you get another boost. But it doesn't so it anymore.

I tried to get it to speed up, but noticed an odd smell like burnt rubber. I'm very worried I damaged the engine. Also the thermometer reads 102 degrees but it was only 89 out. What should I do? The engine doesn't sound like it's damaged. I hear no knocking or rough idling…

Which color should I get my car painted?

I NEED OPINIONS! I have a 2002 Civic EX and I'm stuck between getting it silver and white. I plasti dipped my hubcaps and will also do all my emblems and grill. I'll also tint my taillights and windows. I'm going to the paint shop sometime today so need some opinions As soon as possible!
Side Note: The silver one is actually a 2002 Honda Civic DX, not EX… But they resemble each other very much. The white is in fact an EX Added (1). Http://www.2040cars.com/_content/cars/im… Https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/image…
